Liverpool Transfer Rumors: Andy Carroll Nightmare Won't End with Toon Rescue
Anfield hasn't been kind to Andy Carroll and Andy Carroll hasn't been kind to the Anfield faithful.
Following his record £35 million transfer from Newcastle last January, Carroll has struggled to find form with the Reds.
He's scored only six goals in 31 appearances thus far across all competitions and has been completely outplayed by the currently-banned Luis Suarez.

Rumors of Carroll's departure and disillusionment with Anfield have abounded for some time now and one particular club—the one that sold Carroll to Liverpool in the first place—has been rumored as the most interested.
According to the Sun:
"SunSport can reveal that former club Newcastle would be willing to buy back the England striker.
But for an astonishing £25m LESS than he cost the Merseysiders almost a year ago.
The dramatic development comes after a top agent rang the club to offer them 23-year-old Carroll for just £20m.
Newcastle flatly rejected the idea and a further proposal of £15m plus add-ons.
They are prepared to offer £10m, though, for Carroll—who was a hero on Tyneside and would welcome a move back to his native North East.
"
Liverpool, currently sitting sixth in the table, are only three points out of fourth place.
The race is tight, though, with Chelsea currently sitting fourth with 37 points, Arsenal fifth with 36 points and the Reds in sixth with 34 points.
Ironically enough, it is Newcastle who sit in seventh, only point off Liverpool, and are still in the hunt for a top-four spot as well. Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham have all but ended the chase for the top three, with Spurs already five points clear of the Blues.
All this adds up to Liverpool's desperation to win games and, in order to do that, they need to score goals.
With Suarez serving his eight-game ban, Kenny Dalglish's outfit is going to need the services of Carroll one way or another.
The £10 million offer is ridiculously low and something Dalglish won't even consider. Even if he did, Carroll would then have to come to terms with a monster pay himself.
The Sun quoted a Toon source saying, "But while he (Carroll) left on his terms he'd have to come back on ours."
Don't expect the England striker or the Reds to give up the Liverpool relationship just yet.
