RVD to WWE? Why TNA and WWE Would Benefit from the Jumping of Ships
Rob Van Dam is a pretty hot topic in wrestling right now.
Not as hot of a topic as Chris Jericho or Brock Lensar, but he's still working his way into conversations between wrestling fans and IWC members alike.
RVD’s TNA contract is due to expire this March and, rumor is, he is highly considering a return to the WWE. He stated the following during an interview with the Baltimore Sun:

"One thing that’s for sure is that WWE and I do have a good-faith understanding that if and when I’m ready to return that I’ll be talking to them. They look forward and hope that we’ll be doing business again.
"
Some fans are a little shaky on the idea of RVD leaving TNA and returning to the WWE. I, for one, hope he does make his return to WWE. I think a WWE return for Van Dam would benefit both organizations.
Rob Van Dam is a former ECW, TNA and WWE Champion. He has the in-ring skills, the name recognition and the “big spotlight” experience.
RVD offers something WWE is lacking: a veteran in the main event.
A well-known veteran in the title hunt and/or main event picture.
Wrestlers such as The Undertaker, Kane, Triple H and Rey Mysterio, to name a few, are familiar faces to the older generation of fans, but their careers are coming to a close. Undertaker wrestles once a year, Triple H is taking more of a backstage role, Mysterio is out with injuries and Kane just made his return.
Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam can provide that familiar face to those fans that haven’t watched the WWE in a long time.
Rob Van Dam will also offer a much-needed, big-name main event spot in the WWE.
With guys like Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, Batista and Edge gone, Rob Van Dam can fill the void left by these widely popular Superstars.
One argument against RVD’s WWE return will be the youth movement.
Will Van Dam’s return offset the youth movement? It’s all a matter of how he is booked. Just like Jericho.
With RVD’s many years of experience, he can also teach some of the younger guys a thing or two.
How does RVD going to WWE benefit IMPACT Wrestling? Simple.
Rob Van Dam played a major role in TNA during the spring/summer of 2010.
Van Dam ended AJ Styles’ record-setting Heavyweight Championship reign and carried the title for 113 days. RVD never lost the title, either. He was forced to vacate it after an attack by “The Monster” Abyss.
Van Dam would later feud with Abyss and members of the EV2.0 faction.
When 2011 came around, RVD once again entered the title scene but failed on multiple occasions. He then feuded with Jerry Lynn from Destination X in July to Bound For Glory in October of last year.
RVD has been given a fair amount of TV time during his tenure in TNA.
With Van Dam gone, that will give other wrestlers their chance and their time to shine in his place. Other wrestlers such as Crimson, Gunner, Pope, Morgan, Joe and many more can get the time to showcase their skill and, quite possibly, fill his shoes in the main event scene.
More stars will get more TV time in TNA without Rob Van Dam.
For WWE, Van Dam would offer that familiar, veteran face in the main event.
For IMPACT, Van Dam would leave a space in the card for other, younger stars to fill.
In my opinion, Rob Van Dam’s possible return to the big ‘E is a win/win in this case. Both WWE's programs and IMPACT Wrestling would benefit from the change.
