Alabama vs. LSU Predictions: Trent Richardson and Stars Who Will Dominate
The BCS national championship game between Alabama and LSU will be decided by a few star players that raise their level on the biggest stage with everything at stake.
Not only is the national title on the line, NFL draft stocks could soar for certain stars like Crimston Tide running back Trent Richardson.
Let's look at three stars that will dominate the BCS title game on Monday night in New Orleans.
1) Tyrann Mathieu
The "Honey Badger" was a Heisman Trophy candidate this season, and his play in the LSU secondary is a major reason the Tigers defense was amazing this year.
Mathieu has created 14 turnovers in his career, and his ability to make big plays will be crucial to LSU's chances of beating Alabama for a second time.
Expect Mathieu's speed and instincts to help him create turnovers against the Crimson Tide and give LSU good field position to work with on offense.
2) Trent Richardson
Alabama running back Trent Richardson will have a remarkable game against LSU in the BCS title game and prove to NFL scouts that he should be a top-five pick in April's draft.
Richardson rushed for 505 yards over the Crimson Tide's final three games and only failed two rush for 100 yards in a game twice. One of those times was against the Tigers on November 5, and you can bet Richardson is mightily determined to perform better and carry his team to the title.
Expect Richardson to be a major factor in the passing and rushing attacks on Monday and rush for at least 100 yards.
3) Mark Barron
In a game that will likely be dominated by defenses, Alabama safety Mark Barron will have a fantastic game and really help his NFL draft stock.
Barron is good in coverage but is also a tremendous tackler, racking up 66 tackles this season. He is a major reason why the Crimson Tide defense was No. 1 in total yards and in points allowed.
Barron will be crucial in stopping the LSU passing and running games, and his spectacular play will help hold the Tigers offense to under 14 points again.
