Video: Tom Brady Addresses Rumors He Could Leave Fox After 1 Year amid Raiders Buzz

Retired quarterback Tom Brady denied the idea he's already looking to leave his broadcast role at Fox Sports.

Asked about the topic Wednesday on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Brady jokingly said that "I thought it was a great run, you know, one solid year." He said he's enjoying his time at Fox and reiterated he has nine more years left "and maybe longer" on his contract with the network.

Brady's commitment to Fox was a talking point before he even officially started the job.

The network signed the seven-time Super Bowl champion in May 2022. He was still an active player at the time with no firm date for his retirement. Brady's exit from the NFL the following offseason didn't bring a ton of clarity to his Fox status, either, because he intended to take at least another year before formally entering the booth.

Even now, when Brady is working for Fox, his future remains a matter of debate as he juggles his broadcasting career with his minority ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. He has taken an active role in some of the Raiders' day-to-day business, such as hiring a new head coach.

The Athletic's Richard Deitsch, having already predicted Brady won't fulfill the full 10-year term of his Fox deal, went out on a limb and said he doesn't think the surefire Hall of Famer will make it to Year 2.

In an interview with the Associated Press' Joe Reedy, Fox Sports executive Brad Zager referenced all of the speculation but said he's confident about Brady.

"The whole group that said he would never be there then turned into, he's not going to stay there. It's just a never-ending, merry-go-round of people trying to come up with the next narrative," Zager said.

"Tom has done nothing but be engaged with us every time he's asked about broadcasting. When he was retired and getting in, getting ready, he talked about how excited he was for it, that he was 100% and has never wavered on that. So the fact that there are people on that crew that have to read articles and narratives and predictions that Tom isn't engaged does wear on you."

As much as Zager and Brady want to put this matter to bed, it probably won't go away as long as Brady is a co-owner for one of the teams he's ostensibly tasked with covering.
