Lane Kiffin Shares Motivational Photo After Tennessee Loss to OSU amid CFP Criticism
Lane Kiffin had a message to critics on social media on Saturday.
The Ole Miss head coach, who has been vocal about his disdain towards the College Football Playoff committee for leaving his team out, reposted a quote about "the people going nowhere" who "have something to say."
On Sunday, Kiffin had another inspirational quote to share, this one about rejection.
Kiffin, whose Rebels finished 9-3 this season, posted several times throughout the first round of the College Football Playoff sarcastically complimenting the committee for its Playoff selections.
His posts came amid a handful of first-round blowouts, like Notre Dame's 27-17 win over Indiana and Penn State's 38-10 win against SMU.
Kiffin had nothing to say on social media as Tennessee—a team from his conference—crumbled at the hands of Ohio State on Saturday. The Vols, who were the last SEC team included in the CFP behind Georgia and Texas, lost to the Buckeyes 42-17.
The third-best team in the SEC losing in blowout fashion hurt Kiffin's case that Ole Miss' record was better than some of the other Playoff teams because of the strength of the SEC, which is seemingly why he stopped posting about the CFP committee after the Buckeyes ran away with the game.
Ole Miss, in its fifth year under Kiffin, had a handful of respectable wins like its victory against South Carolina and its upset over Georgia, but the Rebels' losses outweighed their wins. They lost at home to Kentucky, which finished 4-8 on the year, before losing to LSU and Florida later.
One upset loss likely wouldn't have bounced Ole Miss from the College Football Playoff running, but losing three games was enough for the committee to leave the Rebels out.
