Aaron Rodgers: 'Disappointing' to Extend Jets' NFL Playoff Drought to 14 Seasons
The New York Jets extended their playoff drought to 14 straight years with Sunday's 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins.
While speaking to reporters after the loss, veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers called it "disappointing" that the Jets were unable to end their streak of futility this year.

The Jets' 14-year streak without a playoff appearance is the longest in any of the major North American Sports.
This year is especially disappointing, as New York entered the season with renewed optimism that things were finally turning around. Rodgers was making his return from a torn Achilles that cost him virtually the entire 2023 season, and the organization added veterans on both sides of the ball, as things seemingly moved in a positive direction.
However, after a 2-1 start, things quickly fell apart for the Jets. Rodgers looked like a shell of himself after getting banged up behind an offensive line that dealt with early chemistry issues. Head coach Robert Saleh was fired two games into a five-game losing streak, and the defense suffered mightily after Jeff Ulbrich was promoted from defensive coordinator to interim head coach. General manager Joe Douglas was also fired last month, signifying the start of a major rebuild.
The future of Rodgers also remains uncertain, as the 41-year-old has performed well below expectations. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that the Jets "could and likely will still draft a young quarterback" regardless of whether Rodgers returns to the team in 2025.
The Jets (3-10) will now spend the rest of the season playing for draft position, and next Sunday's matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-10) will impact their chances of having a shot at a top pick.
