Some Major League Baseball offseasons lack excitement with a shortage of top-end talent on the free agency market.

This is not one of them.

A number of the top players in the entire league, including Juan Soto, Corbin Burnes, Max Fried, Alex Bregman and Pete Alonso, were available for teams willing to pay the right price. Their free-agency decisions in December and January could ultimately determine who lifts the World Series trophy in October.

With that in mind, here is a look at this offseason's free-agent signings as they unfold.

Justin Turner Signs with Cubs

Infielder Justin Turner and the Chicago Cubs reportedly agreed to a contract, according to ESPN's David Kaplan.

Alex Bregman Signs with Red Sox

Wild Card Series - Detroit Tigers v. Houston Astros - Game Two

The Boston Red Sox have signed third baseman Alex Bregman to a three-year, $120 million contract, according to Chandler Rome of The Athletic.

The former Houston Astros star has won two World Series titles and earned his first Gold Glove award last year while hitting 25 home runs with a .260 average.

Charlie Morton has agreed to a one-year contract with the Baltimore Orioles in free agency, the team announced Friday.

The deal is worth $15 million, per The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

Korean infielder Hye-seong Kim and the Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly agreed to terms on a contract before his international posting window closed, according to The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.

Corbin Burnes and the Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a six-year, $210 million contract, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Heyman noted the deal has an opt-out after two years.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Teoscar Hernández on a three-year, $66 million contract, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com.

The outfielder seemingly confirmed the news on Instagram with a post that read, "I'm back."

Free-agent infielder Gleyber Torres agreed to a contract with the Detroit Tigers after seven seasons with the New York Yankees, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.

Torres reportedly agreed to a one-year, $15 million contract with the Tigers, per Jesse Rogers of ESPN.

Joc Pederson and the Texas Rangers agreed to a contract after leaving the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. Pederson signed a two-year, $37 million contract, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

The Washington Nationals are finalizing a trade to acquire Nathaniel Lowe from the Texas Rangers, per ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Reliever Robert Garcia is being sent to the Rangers in the deal, Passan added.

The Philadelphia Phillies traded for Miami Marlins pitcher Jesús Luzardo, according to The Athletic's Matt Gelb. "Miami will receive Starlyn Caba, a 19-year-old shortstop considered one of the better prospects in the Phillies organization, as part of the return. Emaarion Boyd, a speedy A-ball outfielder, is also part of the package," according to Gelb.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand also reported minor league catcher Paul McIntosh will be traded to the Phillies as part of the deal.

Left-handed pitcher Patrick Sandoval and the Boston Red Sox agreed to terms on a two-year, $18.25 million contract, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Sandoval, who had Tommy John surgery in June, is expected to return for the second half of the 2025 season, Passan reported.

Max Kepler and the Philadelphia Phillies have reportedly agreed to a one-year deal, per MLB.com's Todd Zolecki. ESPN's Jeff Passan added that the contract is worth $10 million.

Kepler spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Minnesota Twins.

The New York Mets signed pitcher Brandon Waddell to a one-year major-league contract, according to Robert Murray of Fansided.

The 30-year-old has made just 11 appearances in the majors, most recently in 2021 with the St. Louis Cardinals, but spent the past few years in Korea's KBO. The left-hander finished last season with a 3.12 ERA in 14 starts for the Doosan Bears.

The Cleveland Guardians are finalizing a trade to send Spencer Horwitz to the Pittsburgh Pirates, per The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the Guardians are getting Josh Hartle, Luis Ortiz and Michael Kennedy in exchange.

Cleveland initially acquired Horwitz from the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday in a deal involving Andrés Giménez.
