Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Has 'Tear in His Calf' amid New Injury, Jerry Jones Says
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones provided an injury update Friday on starting cornerback Trevon Diggs.
Diggs has not practiced this week due to a calf injury, and Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan (h/t Jon Machota of The Athletic) that Diggs has a "tear in his calf."
While Diggs has started all seven games for the Cowboys this season, he was limited to just two games last season after tearing his ACL during a practice.

NFL Not Investigating Mike Vrabel
After Dallas selected him in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft out of Alabama, it didn't take Diggs long to establish himself as one of the top corners in the NFL.
In only his second season, Diggs led the NFL with 11 interceptions, and he was named both a Pro Bowler and First Team All-Pro. He followed that up with another Pro Bowl selection in 2022 when he registered three interceptions, 14 passes defended and 59 tackles.
Through seven games this season, Diggs has 28 tackles, one pick and four pass breakups for a Cowboys defense that has struggled mightily.
While Dallas ranked fifth in the NFL last season in both total defense and scoring defense under defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, it has been a different story this season.
Quinn departed to become head coach of the Washington Commanders, leaving Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy to hire former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer as his new DC.
With Zimmer calling the defense, the Cowboys are 26th in the NFL in total defense and 31st in scoring defense.
Run defense has been the Cowboys' biggest issue, as their 154.6 rushing yards allowed per game is tied with the Carolina Panthers for the most in the NFL, but they are only 20th against the pass as well, allowing 218.0 yards per game through the air.
If the Cowboys are forced to play without Diggs against quarterback Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, it could be a long day for Dallas' secondary.
The Cowboys did activate cornerback DaRon Bland from injured reserve this week, but he didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday as he continues to work his way back from a foot injury.
Bland was a Pro Bowler and First Team All-Pro last season after leading the NFL with nine interceptions and an NFL-record five pick-sixes, but the Cowboys may be without both him and Diggs on Sunday.
With cornerback Amani Oruwariye being placed on IR this week as well, Dallas could be extremely shorthanded at corner against the Falcons with C.J. Goodwin, Andrew Booth and rookie fifth-round pick Caelen Carson as the top options to start outside.
