Andy Reid Nicknamed 'Pink-Slip Andy' by NFL Insider: Chiefs HC 'Fires' Rival Coaches
The Las Vegas Raiders have cycled through seven head coaches since Andy Reid was hired to coach the AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs in 2013.
That's part of the reason one NFL source referred to the Reid as "pink-slip Andy" when talking to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
"He fires [opposing] coaches," the source told Fowler. "So it reached a point where something had to get done."

The Chiefs signed Reid in April to a reported five-year, $100 million contract that is set to keep him in Kansas City through 2029 while making him the highest-paid coach in the NFL.
That was a notable decision for an organization Fowler described as "not known as major spenders within player, coaching and scouting circles."
Prior to Reid's deal, the Denver Broncos had traded with the New Orleans Saints to acquire head coach Sean Payton and sign him to a five-year deal in early 2023. The Los Angeles Chargers then hired former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh ahead of the 2024 season.
Those hirings added some stability to a division that was marked by coaching turnover in Reid's first decade as Chiefs head coach.
In those ten seasons, the Chargers cycled through four coaches, while the Broncos went through seven as the Chiefs claimed nine AFC West championships, four conference championships and three Super Bowls.
The Raiders, which are off to a 2-6 start in their first full season under head coach Antonio Pierce, could see further coaching turnover in the near future. The 4-3 Chargers and 5-3 Broncos will meanwhile hope to maintain some leadership stability amid their push for a playoff spot this spring.
Despite their improvements, however, it is Reid and the Chiefs that remain the unquestioned leaders of the AFC. The Chiefs' 27-20 victory over the Raiders on Sunday helped the reigning Super Bowl champions improve to a 7-0 season-opening record for the first time since Reid's first year as head coach in 2013.
