Colts HC on If Anthony Richardson Will Start vs. Vikings: We're Evaluating Everything
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen did not confirm whether quarterback Anthony Richardson would be the starter next week after his shaky performance against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Steichen was asked whether Richardson would start against the Minnesota Vikings, to which the coach responded: "We're evaluating everything."
His comments come after a loss against the Texans in which the 2023 No. 4 overall pick threw 175 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception on 10-of-32 passing. He has 958 passing yards, four touchdowns and seven interceptions in six games.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Sitting behind Richardson is a seasoned veteran who led the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs last season. Joe Flacco, who is in his 17th NFL season, signed with the Colts this offseason, giving Indianapolis a solid option to look to if Richardson needed to be relieved.
Flacco played five games for the Browns last season, leading them to a 4-1 record behind 1,616 passing yards and 13 touchdowns, a season that led to him being named the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year.
The 39-year-old has played three games this season, tallying 716 passing yards, seven touchdowns and an interception.
At 4-4, the Colts' playoff hopes are still alive, but Steichen seemed to indicate he and the coaching staff will spend the next week deciding if Richardson or Flacco gives them the best chance to win.
Flacco proved last year he's still capable of leading a team to success, and he'll likely be ready to do so again this season if he's called upon.
