Daniel Jones: Brian Daboll Told Giants After Eagles Loss I'm QB1 'Going Forward'
Despite his continued struggles, it appears that New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones isn't in danger of losing his job.
Per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Jones said Thursday that Giants head coach Brian Daboll told the team after this past Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles that he will remain the starting quarterback "going forward," so it can be expected that he will be under center for Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jones was benched in the fourth quarter of the Giants' 28-3 loss to the Eagles, which dropped their record to 2-5. He said after the game that he wasn't pleased with the move.
"I was frustrated. Didn't like it, obviously," Jones said.
It was the second straight game that New York's offense failed to reach 10 points, but Daboll has publicly maintained his faith in the 27-year-old.
"I think he gives us the best chance, number one," Daboll said Monday of his decision to stick with Jones as the starter, per Andrew Crane of the New York Post. "I thought there were a lot of plays that he did exactly what he needed to do, and then look, there were some plays where it wasn't just on Daniel. It was a collection of things. It wasn't just one person, a protection or a route."
Jones has completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 1,442 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions. He's been sacked 21 times, including taking seven sacks against Philadelphia.
The Giants appear to be headed for a rebuilding year, which could spell the end of Jones' time in New York. If his poor performance continues, the team will evaluate whether to cut or trade him in the offseason and target a quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL draft.
Jones will get started on trying to win back the faith of the organization on Monday against the Steelers.
