NFL Insider: Cowboys Will Adjust Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb Contracts for Salary Cap
After being signed to massive contract extensions this past offseason, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb are reportedly likely to have their deals adjusted in a few months.
ESPN's Todd Archer predicted that the Cowboys "will restructure the contracts" for both Prescott and Lamb "by March" in order to create more salary cap space in the offseason.

Dallas currently has $22.7 million in cap space, which sounds good on paper, but Archer explained why "looks can be deceiving when it comes to cap space." The Cowboys will have $20 million in impending dead money on the contracts of guard Zack Martin, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and wide receiver Brandin Cooks if none of them are re-signed once their deals are voided after this season.
Over the past few seasons, Dallas has shown a commitment to developing its homegrown talent like Prescott and Lamb. The team will also be on the hook for a big-money extension for star edge rusher Micah Parsons after this year, so there will be tough financial decisions on the horizon.
Archer also pointed out that the Cowboys "will not play at the high end of the free agency market," so "keeping their top draft picks is even more of a must with how they want to build their roster." It sounds like the team won't be very active in the trade market before the Nov. 5 deadline.
