Colts vs. Vikings Flexed into NFL Week 9 SNF Slot; Replaces Jaguars vs. Eagles
NBC Sports is shaking up the Week 9 NFL schedule.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings in Week 9 has been flexed to Sunday Night Football, while the game originally scheduled for that primetime slot—the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Philadelphia Eagles—will now be broadcast on CBS at 4:05 p.m. ET.

Biggest Questions Surrounding 2026 NFL Season After the Draft 🤔
The swap isn't a huge surprise. Both the Vikings (5-1) and Colts (4-3) currently have winning records, and while the Eagles remain one of the more intriguing (and erratic) teams in the league at 4-2, the Jaguars have been poor this year (2-5).
With the Houston Texans (5-2) already slated to face the New York Jets (2-5) on Thursday night in Week 9 and the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs (6-0) slotted for a matchup with the electric Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2) for Monday night, the Minny vs. Indy showdown was one of the more intriguing options remaining.
Other strong games that week include the Dallas Cowboys (3-3) vs. Atlanta Falcons (4-3) and Detroit Lions (5-1) vs. Green Bay Packers (5-2). The Lions are already scheduled for SNF in Week 10, however, while the Cowboys will play on Sunday night in Week 8.
Between Weeks 5-10, Sunday Night Football may only flex into a game previously scheduled for the 1 p.m. ET or 4 p.m. ET windows twice. Between Week's 11-17, any SNF flexes are at the NFL's discretion.
NBC previously tried to flex the matchup between the Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 13, but the effort was blocked by CBS. Networks can protect one game per week.
