Yankees' Bullpen Ripped by MLB Fans After Fry, Noel HRs Key Guardians ALCS Game 3 Win

The New York Yankees suffered a late collapse against the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Championship Series on Thursday night, losing by the final score of 7-5 in extra innings.

The Yankees were on the verge of taking a 3-0 series lead, owning a 5-3 advantage in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two outs and a runner on second, Guardians outfielder Jhonkensy Noel hit a two-run, game-tying homer off Luke Weaver.

Clay Holmes entered the game for New York in the 10th frame, but Cleveland was able to strike with two outs once again. This time, David Fry ended the game with a walk-off home run.

It was a tough loss, especially after the Yankees erased a 3-1 deficit in the eighth inning with back-to-back homers from Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.

Fans were disappointed with the performances from Weaver and Holmes, who allowed just one earned run in 13.2 combined innings of work throughout the Yankees' 2024 postseason run entering Thursday's contest.

The Yankees will attempt to prevent the Guardians from tying the series in Game 4 on Friday at 8:08 p.m. ET.
