Raiders' Mark Davis Denies Maxx Crosby Rumors After Davante Adams Trade to Jets
After trading star receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets on Tuesday, many began wondering if the Las Vegas Raiders are entering a full rebuild that could also result in shipping away star defensive end Maxx Crosby.
However, Raiders owner Mark Davis quickly put an end to that speculation and told reporters on Tuesday that Crosby won't be going anywhere.
"It's unfortunate today, but there's so much outside chatter that is not true," Davis said, per The Athletic's Vic Tafur and Tashan Reed. "It's not coming from any sources. It's not coming from anything. My basic thing is never to answer all that stuff because, otherwise, you get trapped in this black hole. It's just not happening."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Crosby would be one of the most coveted players on the trade market if he were to be made available by the Raiders ahead of the Nov. 5 deadline, and shipping him away likely would garner a significant haul for a team in need of future assets.
However, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier this week that even a deal that includes multiple first-round picks wouldn't be enough for Las Vegas to trade away the face of its franchise.
"I believe earlier in the year there might've been a team that asked the team about Maxx Crosby and might've floated a one," Schefter said during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. "I think they said, 'Yeah, you start with multiple ones on that guy and even then we wouldn't even entertain it.'"
A Pro Bowl selection in each of the last three years, Crosby is one of the premiere pass rushers in the NFL. He's tied for fifth in the league with 5.5 sacks this season. He made it clear earlier this month that despite the trade rumors, he had no desire to leave his home in Las Vegas.
"You know where I want to be," Crosby said, per Paul Gutierrez of ESPN. "You think I want to be anywhere else? No. I got this s--t tatted on my body. I don't want to go anywhere... it's just funny. You've got a lot of people that have a lot to say when they really don't know what's going on."
Still, trading away Adams signifies that the Raiders know they are unlikely to compete for a playoff spot this year. Crosby will remain the best player on a lackluster team as Las Vegas focuses on contending for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
