Updated 2025 NFL Draft Order After Sunday's Week 6 Results
Four clear contenders have emerged in the competition for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
The New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers all ended Week 6 with 1-5 records.
Each member of the quartet has flexed its own versions of futility over the course of six weeks, and there isn't much hope in sight for any of the group.
New England has the most going for it because Drake Maye made his first career start on Sunday, The Patriots can at least see what their future looks like for the rest of the regular season.
Jacksonville, Cleveland and Carolina can't carry the same hope, and it looks like it will be a long season for all of their fanbases.
The Jaguars could be in an even more brutal state if they lose to the Patriots in London in Week 7, which is one of the first significant games in 2024 that will alter the top of the draft order.

Patriots, Jaguars Face Off in Week 7 in Key Draft Order Clash
2 of 3
New England and Jacksonville face off in an important clash next Sunday in terms of the draft order.
The Jaguars fell flat in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears and a split between themselves and head coach Doug Peterson may happen sooner rather than later at this rate.
There is little hope surrounding the Jacksonville franchise right now, which makes it feel like a true contender for the No. 1 overall pick.
New England is still in that group because it lacks a ton of playmakers around Drake Maye, but Sunday's loss to the Houston Texans provided a bit of hope that the Patriots will escape the top of the draft order.
They need a win to try to create some momentum going into a six-game stretch before their Week 14 bye in which they face a handful of playoff contenders.
Jacksonville could end up with the top pick if it loses to New England because it faces a four-game gauntlet against the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions after London.
Browns, Panthers Look Like True Contenders for Top Pick
3 of 3
The Browns and Panthers look like they will be in at least a three-way fight with the Patriots-Jaguars loser for the top pick.
Cleveland's offense again looked brutal in its Week 6 loss to Philadelphia, while Carolina fell short in a divisional clash with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Browns at least get to play their next three games at home, but those contests are against the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers.
Cleveland could easily head into its Week 10 bye with a 1-8 record and even more questions about why Deshaun Watson is starting at quarterback.
Carolina visits the Washington Commanders and Denver Broncos in the next two weeks in expected losses.
The Panthers play the New Orleans Saints at home and then travel to Munich, Germany to face the New York Giants in Week 10 before their Week 11 bye.
There's a strong chance each team loses all of its remaining games before its bye week, and if that is the case, there will be a true fight for the No. 1 overall pick during December and January.
