Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings: Updated Overview for All Positions

Zach BuckleyOct 8, 2024

If the first five weeks of the 2024 NFL season have taught us anything, it's that fantasy football can be hard to figure out.

Who had Jayden Daniels immediately establishing himself as a fantasy elite? Or Derrick Henry and Alvin Kamara bouncing back to top-shelf status at running back? Or Jayden Reed attempting to crack the WR1 conversation?

If nothing else, these are all reminders that fantasy football is, at best, a guessing game. We'll at least try to make it an educated-guessing game by supplying early rankings and a sleeper at each of the four skill positions for Week 6.

Quarterback

1. Lamar Jackson, BAL (vs. WAS)

2. Jalen Hurts, PHI (vs. CLE)

3. Jayden Daniels, WAS (at BAL)

4. Josh Allen, BUF (at NYJ)

5. Jordan Love, GB (vs. ARI)

6. Kyler Murray, ARI (at GB)

7. Joe Burrow, CIN (at NYG)

8. Kirk Cousins, ATL (at CAR)

9. Justin Fields, PIT (at LV)

10. Brock Purdy, SF (at SEA)

Sleeper: Joe Flacco, IND (at TEN)

If Anthony Richardson remains on the sideline (oblique), then Flacco will remain in the sleeper conversation. The 39-year-old veteran has been so good in relief of Richardson that Colts coach Shane Steichen had to quiet talks of a quarterback controversy. So far, Flacco is 49-of-70 (70 percent) for 527 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions.

1. Saquon Barkley, PHI (vs. CLE)

2. Derrick Henry, BAL (vs. WAS)

3. Jordan Mason, SF (at SEA)

4. Bijan Robinson, ATL (at CAR)

5. David Montgomery, DET (at DAL)

6. Jahmyr Gibbs, DET (at DAL)

7. Josh Jacobs, GB (vs. ARI)

8. James Conner, ARI (at GB)

9. Breece Hall, NYJ (vs. BUF)

10. Kenneth Walker III, SEA (vs. SF)

Sleeper: D'Andre Swift, CHI (vs. JAX)

Swift hasn't been the most efficient ball-carrier (3.2 yards per rush), but with the kind of volume he's handling, he doesn't have to be. He's had at least 15 touches in each of the last four games and totaled 46 over the last two. He is also on a two-game scoring streak and has nine receptions (on nine targets) and 285 scrimmage yards during this stretch.

Wide Receiver

2. Ja'Marr Chase, CIN (at NYG)

3. Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET (at DAL)

4. DJ Moore, CHI (vs. JAX)

5. Drake London, ATL (at CAR)

6. A.J. Brown, PHI (vs. CLE)'

7. Malik Nabers, NYG (vs. CIN)

8. DK Metcalf, SEA (vs. SF)

9. Brandon Aiyuk, SF (at SEA)

10. Jayden Reed, GB (vs. ARI)

Sleeper: Darnell Mooney, ATL (at CAR)

If Mooney sustains his hot start, he'll graduate from sleeper status soon. Only six receivers have produced more standard fantasy points over the past four weeks, per FantasyPros. He has a great chance to keep the good times rolling against a generous Carolina defense.

3. Trey McBride, ARI (at GB)

4. Sam LaPorta, DET (at DAL)

5. Jake Ferguson, DAL (vs. DET)

7. Dalton Kincaid, BUF (at NYJ)

8. Tucker Kraft, GB (vs. ARI)

9. Dallas Goedert, PHI (vs. CLE)

10. Pat Freiermuth, PIT (at LV)

Sleeper: Zach Ertz, WAS (at BAL)

Choosing a sleeper tight end is a bit like throwing a dart while blindfolded, but there are reasons to hope Ertz might actually hit. He saw a season-high eight targets in Week 5, and while he couldn't make them count (two catches for 10 yards), that volume still matters. And maybe he'll find a way to make more of his opportunities against a Ravens defense that has struggled against the position.
