Zach BacharOct 5, 2024

Five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart announced his decision to reclassify from the 2026 recruiting class to the 2025 recruiting class on Saturday, via ESPN's Eli Lederman.

Stewart made the announcement in a post on X.

He's now ranked as the No. 3 defensive lineman and the No. 18 overall player in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports' Composite rankings.

Per Lederman, Stewart's finalists are Ohio State, Oregon, LSU and USC.

His window to reclassify opened when he chose to transfer from St. Augustine High School in New Orleans to Edna Karr High School. Although he's ineligible to play for Edna Karr during the 2024 season, the move allowed him to switch to the 2025 class.

Stewart was dominant throughout his sophomore season in 2023, recording 85 tackles and 33 tackles for loss to go along with 20 sacks (via 247Sports). At 6'6" and 270 pounds, he possess the ability to attack opposing quarterbacks from the edge as well as the interior.

Clyde Alexander, Stewart's coach and representative, has raved about his performance against older opponents.

"He's been dominating four- and five-star prospects since seventh grade," Alexander told Lederman. "Some of those kids are in the NFL now, and [Stewart] still had two more years of high school. Every head coach, coordinator and [defensive line coach] has him as the No. 1 player on their board regardless of class."

Stewart is already scheduled to visit all four of his finalists.

He'll start with a trip to Oregon to watch the Ducks host Ohio State on Oct. 12 before traveling to Columbus to view the Buckeyes' campus the following month, according to Hunter Shelton of On3.com.

He's also planning to see both LSU and USC before the end of November.
