Video: Aaron Rodgers Says He Has 'Great Relationship' with Jets HC Robert Saleh
After the New York Jets' disappointing 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, many began to wonder if the relationship between star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Robert Saleh was starting to decline.
However, Rodgers cleared the air during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday.
"Rob and I have a great relationship, we have since day one when I got here," Rodgers said. "We have text message conversations, threads that we're in, conversations about a number of different topics outside of football. We've got a good friendship."

There appeared to be some friction between Saleh and Rodgers after Saleh questioned whether the Jets were "good enough to handle all the cadence" after the offense was called for five pre-snap penalties in Sunday's loss. Rodgers pushed back on the notion that he had to simplify his cadence, saying, "That's one way to do it. The other way is hold them accountable."
Saleh backtracked on his comments while speaking to reporters on Monday, acknowledging Rodgers' sophisticated cadence is beneficial to the team.
"We're always going to push the envelope with cadence. Always," he said, per ESPN's Rich Cimini. "But with regards to operation, getting in and out of the huddle, getting to the line of scrimmage, the communication that's being had, those are all things that we can continue to look at and clean up. But from a cadence standpoint, that's part of what makes us who we are, and we're going to continue to always push the envelope on that."
The loss to the Broncos exposed many more issues for the Jets, as they struggled to protect Rodgers from a ferocious pass rush. In all, he was hit 14 times, which was hardly ideal for a 40-year-old quarterback. New York also struggled to establish the run, totaling 64 rushing yards on a rain-soaked Sunday.
The Jets (2-2) will try to bounce back when they travel to London to face the Minnesota Vikings, who are one of two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL at 4-0 along with the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
