Re-Drafting Every Team's Worst Draft Pick of the Century 😡
The 20-year-old spent all three years of his collegiate career in Wisconsin before he was selected by New York in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft.
Allen racked up 3,494 rush yards and 35 touchdowns as a member of the Badgers, including 984 yards in his 2023 campaign. It's worth noting that his final season at the school coincided with head coach Luke Fickell's first full year running the team.
Wisconsin finished the 2023 season with a record of 7-6, losing to LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
After Allen recorded 230 carries in his sophomore year, he only ran the ball 181 times in his final season. There appeared to be a disconnect with Fickell regarding his role in the offense, especially after he received just seven carries in a loss to Washington State in the Badgers' second game of the year.
"He's disappointed, he obviously wants to touch the ball a lot more and feels like more than just selfishly, feels like he can be more of an impact," Fickell said about Allen during the week after the loss, via Nick Kosko of On3.com. "And I agree with him. He can be more of an impact but, you know, the opportunities that we get, we've all got to take advantage of it."
As for his NFL career, Allen has already carved out a role in New York's offense. His involvement has increased with each week, as he rushed for 55 yards on 11 attempts during the Jets' Week 3 win over the New England Patriots.
Allen also became the youngest player to score from scrimmage since 1930 during a victory against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 15.
