Video: 20-Year-Old Jets RB Braelon Allen Sets NFL Records with TD Scores vs. Titans

New York Jets rookie running back Braelon Allen made history during the team's 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

At just 20 years old, he became the youngest player to score from scrimmage in a game since 1930 (h/t Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk).

Allen rushed for 33 yards on seven carries, including a 20-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter with the contest tied at 17. He added another score as a receiver, hauling in two of his four targets for 23 yards.

He also became the first player under 21 years old to score a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the same game, per ESPN's Field Yates.

The Jets selected Allen with a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft following three seasons at Wisconsin. He was able to consistently find the end zone in college, scoring at least 11 touchdowns in all three years with the Badgers.

Allen immediately stood out in the preseason for New York, rushing for 81 yards on 14 attempts through two games.

While he's still behind dual-threat running back Breece Hall on the Jets' depth chart, his role in the offense has continued to increase. After he was on the field for nine snaps in Week 1, he recorded 20 snaps on Sunday and shared the field with Hall on several plays.

Aaron Rodgers, the NFL's oldest active player, was impressed with his much younger teammate.

"He just needs a little bit of space," Rodgers said, per Brian Costello of the New York Post. "He's so big and strong. You just can't tackle him high. I'm really proud of him. He's a great kid. He cares about it a lot."

Allen will look to continue to build momentum in New York's next game, a matchup with the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football.
