NFL GM: Packers HC 'Has Done Great with Malik Willis, Who I Don't Think Can Play'
One NFL general manager gave credit to Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur for the team's 2-1 start to the season while throwing a subtle jab at backup quarterback Malik Willis.
When ranking head coaches in the NFC North, the general manager slotted LaFleur at No. 2 behind Kevin O'Connell of the Minnesota Vikings, per Mike Sando of The Athletic.
"I would rank them by the head-coaching jobs," the general manager said. "I think Kevin O'Connell has done the best job. Matt LaFleur is second. He has done great with Malik Willis, who I don't think can play."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Willis has stepped up for the Packers after starting quarterback Jordan Love suffered a knee injury at the end of Green Bay's Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
After the 25-year-old was acquired by the team in a trade with the Tennessee Titans on Aug. 26, he was eventually thrust into the first-string offense without a full offseason to learn LaFleur's playbook.
"I just cannot articulate the job that he's done in a short period of time," LaFleur said, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. "People can't fathom that. I promise you, you guys don't get it. I know you think you got it, but you don't get it. What he's been able to do, I've never seen something like this."
The 2022 third-round pick has helped the Packers survive without Love, earning wins over the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans. In two starts, he has completed 73.5 percent of his throws for 324 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
The dual-threat quarterback also showed off his ability to consistently move the chains on the ground, racking up 114 rush yards and another score on 12 attempts.
With Love reportedly eyeing a Week 4 return, Willis' days as a starter may be over for now. While he was aided by LaFleur's game plan and Green Bay's No. 1 rushing offense, the Liberty product certainly showed he can play.
