Lions' Sam LaPorta Day-to-Day After Suffering Sprained Ankle Injury vs. Cardinals
Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta is day-to-day after suffering a sprained ankle during Sunday's 20-13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, head coach Dan Campbell said on Monday (via ESPN's Adam Schefter).
LaPorta was carted off the field during the game with the injury, so the news of it being just a sprain is a positive sign. He finished the day with two catches for 36 yards.
LaPorta had a fantastic debut season in 2023, making 86 catches for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns. This helped Detroit go 12-5, win the NFC North and advance all the way to the NFC title game.

The Lions have high expectations in 2024 and their 2-1 record thus far has them in a solid spot. However, missing a player like LaPorta makes the offense less explosive and will force the unit to scheme differently.
It's not clear what LaPorta's status for Detroit's Week 4 contest against the Seattle Seahawks is at the moment. If he is unable to play, Brock Wright and Parker Hesse are next up on the depth chart.
