Aces' A'ja Wilson Breaks Angel Reese's WNBA Record for Most Rebounds in Single Season

Having already set the WNBA single-season record for points in a season, Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson added the rebounding record to her historic 2024 resume.

The two-time MVP grabbed seven rebounds in Tuesday's 85-72 win over the Seattle Storm to give her 451 overall this season, surpassing the mark of 446 that was held by Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese.

Reese broke the previous record of 404 rebounds held by Sylvia Fowles during the Sky's loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Sept. 1. She added 42 more to her total before a wrist injury ended her season on Sept. 7.

This has been a record-breaking season across the WNBA. Caitlin Clark set the single-season assist record and owns the rookie record for most points in a season.

Wilson is the overwhelming favorite to win her third MVP award after setting the scoring and rebound record. She became the first player in WNBA history to score at least 1,000 points in a season.

The defending champion Aces have needed Wilson to carry a huge load for them this season. They had to overcome injuries and a slow start to fight their way into the top four.

Las Vegas still has a chance to move up to the No. 3 seed with a win and Connecticut Sun loss on the final day of the regular season on Thursday.

Wilson has led the Aces to four straight victories and an 8-1 mark in their last nine games overall. She ranks first in the WNBA in scoring average (26.9 points per game) and second in rebounds (11.9).

The Aces will wrap up the regular season on Thursday at home against the Dallas Wings.
