Dennis Allen Downplays Saints' 2-0 Start: Just Guarantees We Won't Be Worse Than 2-15
The New Orleans Saints are the hottest team in the NFL through the first two weeks of the season, but head coach Dennis Allen isn't getting too far ahead of himself.
During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Allen said the Saints won't let their two impressive victories go to their heads because they know it's a long season.
"It's a great feeling, we enjoy it--players for about 24 hours or 18 hours, coaches probably for about five or six hours--and then we get right back into work and go onto the next one because the reality is, two wins just guarantees you that you're gonna go no worse than 2-15 this season," Allen said around the 1:50 mark. "So we gotta focus on how do we get to win No. 3, and if we spend too much time patting ourselves on the back after win No. 2, then win No. 3 becomes that much more difficult."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The Saints trounced the Carolina Panthers in their season opener 47-10 and followed that up with a surprising 44-19 win against the Dallas Cowboys this past Sunday. This marks the first time that New Orleans has scored 40 or more points in back-to-back games since 2018 when Sean Payton was head coach and Drew Brees was still under center.
Despite Allen's humble approach, the Saints have a lot to be confident about. They've been clicking on both sides of the ball and they will have a strong chance to compete for a division title in the NFC South.
New Orleans will look to keep the momentum going when they face a test against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
