Aaron Rodgers Takes Blame for Jets' Offensive Struggles in Upset Loss to Nix, Broncos
New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers shouldered the blame for the team's 10-9 defeat to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
"When your defense holds them to 10, you've got to win the game 100 percent of the time," he told reporters after the game. "That's on the offense. That's on me. Not good enough."

Rodgers finished 24-of-42 for 225 yards in the loss.
The running game is where New York really struggled. Breece Hall carried the ball 10 times for four yards while Braelon Allen had a team-high 34 yards. When Rodgers reels off the longest run of the night (14 yards), it's probably not a good sign.
The Jets were also 4-of-17 on third downs and made two trips into the red zone without getting a touchdown. In the first half, they had a 1st-and-goal from the Denver 1-yard line that resulted in a 23-yard field goal from Greg Zuerlein.
In general, Week 4 was a major letdown for New York after a 24-3 win presented the idea that things were clicking with Rodgers healthy.
Rodgers was acquired ahead of the 2023 campaign with the expectation that he would take a Jets team loaded with a stout defense and young playmakers in Hall and Garrett Wilson to new heights. Instead, he spent the entirety of the season on the sidelines after tearing his Achilles on the Jets' fourth offensive snap.
The Jets again came into 2024 with high expectations and Rodgers had a clear chip on his shoulder after how things unfolded a year ago.
"I think you always have something to prove," he told ESPN's Rich Cimini in early September. "It just kind of changes who you're proving that to, I think, the older you get."
Rodgers isn't performing that badly through four starts when considering his age (40) along with the fact he's coming off a devastating injury. He has 849 passing yards and five touchdowns to one interception.
However, Sunday's collective showing from the Jets points to problems that might extend beyond the quarterback position.
