Caitlin Clark: 'Main Goal' Was to Help Fever Clinch 2024 WNBA Playoff Bracket Berth
Even before Wednesday's victory over the Los Angeles Sparks, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever had reason to celebrate because they clinched the franchise's first postseason berth since 2016.
Following the 93-86 win over the Sparks (starts at 21:15 mark), Clark explained the "main goal" for her rookie season was to help the Fever end their playoff drought.

Losses by the Chicago Sky and Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night secured Indiana's spot in the postseason. The Fever have climbed up to sixth in the standings and trail the Seattle Storm by 2.5 games for the No. 5 spot.
After a slow start when the team was trying to establish an identity, the Fever have played like one of the best in the WNBA. They are 17-8 in their last 25 games, including a five-game winning streak since the All-Star and Olympic hiatus.
Clark, who became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double on July 6, got her second one on Wednesday night. She finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in 40 minutes.
Just as important as Clark's improvement over the course of the season has been her budding chemistry with Aliyah Boston. The No. 1 pick in the 2023 WNBA draft had a 24-point, 14-rebound double-double against the Sparks. She is averaging 15.5 points on 56.5 percent shooting and 10.5 rebounds per game in 22 starts since June 10.
With six games remaining in the regular season, the Fever (18-16) have a chance to set a single-season franchise record for wins. The current record is 22 done twice in 2009 and 2012, the latter season was also when they won the WNBA Finals.
The Fever haven't won 20 games in a season since 2015 when they lost to the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Finals.
