Having already conquered the gridiron and podcast world, Travis Kelce's next step will be taking over television in his first acting role in the upcoming FX series Grotesquerie.

The first trailer and images featuring Kelce in the series were released on Wednesday.

Per the official synopsis from FX, the 10-episode series centers around Detective Lois Tryon (Niecy Nash-Betts) and Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond) as they investigate a series of crimes in their small town.

The trailer doesn't offer much from Kelce, whose character name is not revealed in the synopsis. He does have one line of spoken dialogue.

"There is no future after this," Kelce says to someone who is offscreen.

The series is co-created and executive produced by Ryan Murphy. His list of credits includes Nip/Tuck, Glee and American Horror Story. He also co-wrote and directed the film adaptation of Eat Pray Love starring Julia Roberts.

"There's nothing he can't do," Kelce said on the New Heights podcast in May about working on the series (h/t Carson Blackwelder of ABC.com). "Everybody's just been so helpful in making me feel comfortable and ... giving me kinda the direction I need and the coaching I need to portray this part that I'm in."

Kelce doesn't have to worry about his regular job getting in the way of his new television series. Grotesquerie will air on Wednesdays, with the first two episodes premiering on Sept. 25.

The reigning two-time Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will begin their quest for a three-peat on Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of last season's AFC Championship Game.
