49ers GM: Ricky Pearsall 'Doing Really Well' After Shooting, Can Play in 2024
San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch is expecting to see wide receiver Ricky Pearsall on the field at some point in the 2024 regular season as the rookie continues to recover from being shot during an attempted robbery.
Lynch told reporters Tuesday that Pearsall is doing "really well." He also said it's "nothing short of miraculous that he came out of this as good as he did."

The team confirmed Sunday that Pearsall was released from the hospital, a day after he had been in "serious but stable condition" due to a gunshot wound to his chest.
San Francisco Police said officers responded to a reported shooting at 3:37 p.m. PT on Saturday.
St. John Barned-Smith of the San Francisco Chronicle reported Sgt. Joelle Harrell initially heard the gunshots and ran to the scene. She found Pearsall injured on the ground and provided first aid, applying pressure to where the bullet entered and exited, before emergency personnel arrived.
The Niners selected Pearsall 31st overall in the 2024 NFL draft. In his five years at Arizona State and Florida, he caught 159 passes for 2,420 yards and 14 touchdowns.
The 6'1" wideout is due to miss at least the first four games of the regular season after the 49ers placed him on the reserve/non-football injury list. He'll be eligible to return at any point after Week 4.
San Francisco opens its season on Sept. 9 against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.
