Schefter reported in November that the facility would be funded in its entirety by the Walton-Penner ownership group.
The facility is set to open at the team's campus in Englewood, Colorado, which was renamed from the Centura Health Training Center to the Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit in May.
Broncos leadership toured the facilities of teams including the Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors in order to begin designing the facility in 2022, per Aric DiLalla of DenverBroncos.com.
The new training facility will be connected to the Pat Bowlen Fieldhouse, which was built in 2014, per DiLalla.
The new building is one third larger than the Broncos' previous training facility, which was built in 1990, and will offer players an additional 21,000 square feet of space, DiLalla reported.
The facility will also feature "a new berm on the east side of the campus from which fans can watch training camp," DiLalla wrote.
The construction of the facility will not impact the Broncos' 2025 training camp, which fans will be able watch from temporary stands, the Associated Press reported.
The groundbreaking ceremony follows Broncos' owners decision to invest in $100 million in upgrades including a new scoreboard in Mile High Stadium last offseason.
