Bucs' Todd Bowles on Randy Gregory's Release: 'Can't Miss What You Never Had'
Todd Bowles isn't sweating Randy Gregory's departure from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Gregory never reported to training camp and has missed both of Tampa Bay's preseason games after filing a lawsuit against the NFL and the Denver Broncos over "alleged discrimination" about his use of a medication that contained THC.
Gregory's prolonged absence led to his release by the Buccaneers on Saturday.

Bowles, the Buccaneers head coach, downplayed the move when speaking to reporters on Sunday.
"I'll never find out [why Gregory didn't report], but I wish him the best and we'll move on from there," Bowles said, per Jenna Laine of ESPN. "Can't miss what you never had."
Bowles continued by highlighting the team's strong linebacker depth and noted that Gregory's release opens a roster spot for a deserving player.
"The outside backer position on defense probably has the most depth out of any position over there, so we're very comfortable with the guys we have that's playing and that's backing 'em up right now. And guys that could possibly make the team," Bowles said, per Laine.
Gregory has shown flashes throughout his career, with 117 career tackles and 22 sacks, but has struggled with staying on the field due to multiple suspensions. He played 16 games in 2023, which was a career-high, and registered 20 tackles and 3.5 sacks between the Broncos and San Francisco 49ers.
