Video: Caitlin Clark Meets Aaron Judge, Rocks Yankees Jersey Before Game vs. Rangers

Adam WellsAug 10, 2024

Caitlin Clark is taking advantage of the remaining days of the WNBA hiatus by paying a visit to Yankee Stadium.

The Indiana Fever star was sporting a Yankees jersey before Saturday's doubleheader in the Bronx between the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees and was able to link up with Aaron Judge.

Clark also made an appearance in the Yankees broadcast booth, describing her interaction with Judge and indicating Saturday's game was her first time at Yankee Stadium:

Erik Boland of Newsday noted Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo got to take a photo with Clark, who will be taking a tour of the stadium and meeting other members of the club.

Since the Yankees don't put last names on the back of their home jerseys, the No. 22 Clark is wearing matches her Fever number and also doubles as Juan Soto's number with the MLB club.

The WNBA went on hiatus after games on July 17, with the exception of the All-Star Game three days later. Clark, who played for the WNBA All-Stars against Team USA in Phoenix, admitted around that time she was looking forward to getting a break.

Dating back to her final season at Iowa, Clark played a total of 65 games in eight months from October 2023 through July 17. That includes a run to the NCAA championship game, getting drafted No. 1 overall by the Fever, and the intense media coverage around her arrival in the WNBA

Clark has enjoyed a terrific debut season so far. She is averaging 17.1 points, a WNBA-high 8.2 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game in 26 starts. The 22-year-old recorded the first triple-double by a rookie in league history in the Fever's win over the New York Liberty on July 6.

The Fever will resume their season on Friday at home against the Phoenix Mercury.

In the meantime, Clark will take in at least one of the two games between the Rangers and Yankees on Saturday starting at 1:05 p.m. ET.
