Browns' D'Onta Foreman Released from Hospital After Suffering Neck Injury at Practice
Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman was released from the hospital and returned to the team a day after he was carted off the field with a neck injury.
According to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi, the injury occurred during a punt drill, and Foreman was subsequently placed on a backboard.
The Browns said in a statement that Foreman "sustained a direct blow to the head that resulted in neck pain." He was "taken to an ambulance" and "transported via helicopter to a medical center in Roanoke, Virginia, to undergo further medical evaluation."

Foreman had movement in all of his extremities, and x-rays and CT scans both came back negative before he was released from the hospital, according to the Browns.
Foreman, 28, signed with the Browns in free agency this offseason after spending last season with the Chicago Bears.
The 6'1" 236-pound Foreman has been a productive power back during his six-year NFL run following a successful collegiate career at Texas.
Selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft, Foreman has played for the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers and Bears.
His best season came in 2022 with the Panthers when he became the starter after Christian McCaffrey was traded to the San Francisco 49ers. He led the team with 914 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns while averaging 4.5 yards per carry.
Last season, Foreman rushed for 425 yards and four scores for the Bears, while also catching a career-high 11 passes and scoring a receiving touchdown.
Cleveland's decision to sign Foreman was somewhat unexpected due to the team's backfield depth, but he was expected to vie for a roster spot during the preseason.
Browns starting quarterback Nick Chubb is currently on the physically unable to perform list after tearing his ACL last season, while free-agent signing Nyheim Hines is on the non-football injury list after tearing his ACL in a jet skiing accident last year.
Considering those situations, and with uncertainty now surrounding Foreman's health, the Browns only healthy running backs are Jerome Ford, Pierre Strong Jr., John Kelly Jr. and Aidan Robbins.
The Browns will play their first game of the preseason next weekend when they host the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 10.
