10,112 players initially entered the Main Event field, setting a new World Series of Poker record.

Griff entered Day 8 in a tie for last place in chips, although he was able to move up the leaderboard with an excellent first hand. Prior to the Main Event, Griff was credited with $47,192 in live tournament earnings and his largest score was previously $18,104 (h/t David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review-Journal).

"I mean, the money's great, but this is a dream for me," he said, via Pokernews.com. "I mean, everyone who watches poker growing up in the Moneymaker era or watching the TV programs, you want to be at the final table, and to do it this year with the largest field — it's just it's a dream come true."

Kim finished No. 23 in the 2022 WSOP Main Event, although 2024 represents his first appearance at the final table.

"I think after the 2022 Main Event run, I started having a big interest in tournaments and I wanted to get better at them," said Kim, per Worldpokertour.com. "So since that tournament, actually, I've been doing a lot of work and yeah, I definitely think it helped me a lot today."

Griff, Kim, and the rest of the players at the 2024 final table will have a day off on Monday before they'll be back in action on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
