NFL Rumors: Calais Campbell to Sign Dolphins Contract; Updated 2024 Depth Chart
Former Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Calais Campbell is reportedly expected to sign a contract with the Miami Dolphins, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Campbell, who played collegiately at Miami, is likely nearing the end of his NFL career at 37 years old, and returning to Miami could be the best place to do it.
Now having added a veteran leader to the roster, here's a look at the Dolphins updated defensive depth chart for the 2024 NFL season:

While Campbell is certainly one of the older defensive linemen in the NFL, he has still been very productive in recent years. He played all 17 games for the Falcons last year, registering 56 tackles, 6.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass deflected.
It's not clear whether he will start for the Dolphins or not, but he will more than likely get valuable reps for Miami while providing a veteran presence that is crucial for teams looking to compete for a Super Bowl.
The Dolphins are coming off an 11-6 season with a wild-card round exit to the eventual champion Kansas City Chiefs. It was Miami's best regular season since 2008, but it became evident the team is still in need of improvements to become a Super Bowl contender.
The Dolphins were stellar on offense but lacked on the defensive side, which ultimately held them back from taking down the Chiefs in the playoffs. Now having added Campbell, along with safety Marcus Maye, Miami has upgraded its defense and is hoping for better results in 2024.
