Drew Brees Wants to Broadcast NFL Games Again: 'I Think I Could Be the Best At It'
Drew Brees had a shortlived career as a broadcaster, but the NFL legend hopes to be back in the booth soon.
"The thing that I wanted to do the most, the thing I think I could bring the most value in, was broadcasting NFL games," Brees said. "And it was the thing I had the least opportunity to do. I was able to do a little bit of college at Notre Dame, just two NFL games broadcasted. They were eight weeks apart. And then the studio stuff."
Brees spent the 2021 season as a color analyst for NBC Sports, though he didn't spend much time in the booth at NFL games and instead appeared mostly in the studio. During that same season, he was an analyst for Notre Dame games.

Brees' football knowledge is unquestionable, but he's still looking for a chance to shine as an analyst. If he gets the chance, Brees believes he will excel.
"I love the game and I would love to broadcast NFL games at some point again," Brees said. "I think I could be the best at it."
Brees, who spent most of his career with the New Orleans Saints after being drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 2001, recorded 80,358 passing yards and 571 touchdowns across his 20-year career. The 13-time Pro Bowler led the Saints to their only Super Bowl in franchise history in 2009, when he was named Super Bowl MVP.
Brees is well accomplished as a football player, but as many NFL greats have done, he's looking for a strong second act as a broadcaster.
