The Sky held a 50-42 lead at the half, but Connecticut outscored Chicago 27-17 in the third quarter and held on in the fourth to claim the win and improve to 5-0 on the season.

DeWanna Bonner led Connecticut with 19 points, adding eight rebounds and three assists as well. Brionna Jones and DiJonai Carrington each had 16 points while Tyasha Harris added 15 points.

Chicago was led by Marina Mabrey's 23 points while Reese and Dana Evans had 13 each, Chennedy Carter had 11 points and Elizabeth Williams had 10.

Reese added five rebounds, two assists and a steal to her stat line. She was 4-of-9 on field goals and 5-of-6 on free throws. She was notably on the receiving end of a hard foul from Alyssa Thomas, resulting in the latter's ejection from the game and a flagrant foul.

Despite the loss, fans took to social media to praise Reese and the Sky for the valiant effort against one of the top teams in the league:

Chicago dropped to 2-2 on the season and 0-1 at Wintrust Arena. Still, hanging with a tough team like the Sun was certainly an accomplishment and shows that the franchise is heading in a positive direction after an 18-22 season in 2023.

Reese and the Sky will look to get back above .500 again on Tuesday when it hosts Seattle at 8 P.M. ET.
