Jay White, Gunns Beat Death Triangle to Retain AEW Trios Titles at Double or Nothing
The Bang Bang Gang defeated Death Triangle at Double or Nothing on Sunday to retain the unified AEW World Trios Championships.
The champs won after Juice Robinson appeared out of nowhere to trip Pac up off the top rope with the referee distracted. That allowed Jay White to get up and finish off Pac with the Blade Runner.
The Bang Bang Gang, comprised of Jay White and the brotherly duo of Austin and Colten Gunn, has dominated the AEW trios division since January when it beat Brian Cage and Gates of Agony for the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships.
That led to a unification match against The Acclaimed at Dynasty in April, and The Bang Bang Gang prevailed to unify the ROH Six-Man and AEW World Trios Championships.
In recent weeks, White and The Gunns set their sights on Pac, even attacking him on a recent episode of Collision.
White subsequently taunted Pac for being all alone and having no backup in his feud with The Bang Bang Gang, but that wasn't the case for long, as Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fénix emerged to reform Death Triangle with Pac.
Death Triangle was once among the dominant stables in AEW, winning the AEW world trios titles in 2022 and going on to hold them for 126 days.
The group was essentially dismantled over the past year, though, due to both Pac and Fénix missing significant time with injuries.
Pac was out from July 2023 until March 2024 when he came back to help Penta and Eddie Kingston go up against The Elite.
Fénix was out from October 2023 until April 2024, and then missed a couple of more weeks with another apparent injury before finally making his return as part of Death Triangle.
While Death Triangle winning back the trios titles immediately after reuniting would have been a great story, The Bang Bang Gang retained and kept their spot atop the AEW trios division.
