Isaiah Hartenstein: Knicks' Play Was 'Not Respectful' to Fans in G4 Loss to Pacers
After getting blown out 121-89 in Sunday's Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Indiana Pacers, the New York Knicks could use some home cooking.
The home team has been victorious in all four games so far in the series. When asked about the boost the home crowd at Madison Square Garden will give the Knicks in Game 5, center Isaiah Hartenstein told reporters he's hopeful that they will put forth a better showing than they did on Sunday.
"It's the Garden, nothing's like the Garden. We have to really get back to playing our basketball, coming back to playing for the fans like that. Because the way we've played, especially today, was not respectful to the fans and how they support us," Hartenstein said.
The Knicks trailed by as many as 43 points in Sunday's game. They shot 33.7 percent from the field and hit just seven of their 37 three-point attempts (18.9 percent).
New York has been relying on a shortened rotation amid injuries to key players like Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson. However, the loss of swingman OG Anunoby further compounded the problem, as he suffered a strained hamstring in Game 2 against Indiana. It was clear in Sunday's game that the Knicks were running on fumes, as the Pacers jumped out to a 20-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
The Knicks will have to regroup quickly as they try to bounce back at home in Game 5 on Tuesday.
