Dana White Open to UFC Fighters Having WWE Matches and Reveals New WWE PLE Schedule
UFC President Dana White told reporters at Saturday's post-Fight Night press conference in St. Louis that he'd be open to UFC fighters making appearance in the WWE ring (h/t Nikunj Walia of Ringside News):
"Some of the fighters that fight here have always dreamed about doing a WWE match or whatever it is, I don't have a problem with that. I didn't have a problem with that when Vince was consistently f--king me for no reason and now that's not the case anymore, obviously I'd absolutely do it."
He also added that WWE Premium Live Events will once again be held on Sundays.
"We already have those dates set up right now where Power Slap goes Friday and UFC goes Saturday," White said (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News). "You're going to see Friday, Power Slap, Saturday, UFC, and Sunday, WWE. You'll start seeing that stuff too."
White's entire post-fight presser can be seen here:
WWE and UFC are now merged under the TKO Group Holdings banner and have already made one big announcement joining the two together with NXT Battleground taking place in Las Vegas' UFC APEX on Sunday, June 9.
WWE Superstar Randy Orton, who is from St. Louis, was also on hand last night and notably embraced fellow St. Louis native Joaquin Buckley after his second-round TKO win over Vicente Luque.
Ultimately, the crossovers between UFC and WWE are clearly in the works, and based on White's comments, more should be expected in the future.
