Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Late 3-PT Shot Was a 'Terrible Decision' in G3 Loss vs. Pacers
New York Knicks star point guard Jalen Brunson wasn't happy with a key moment in Friday's 111-106 Game 3 loss to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
After Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard connected on a three-pointer to break a 106-106 tie, Brunson tried to answer after a timeout by chucking a triple while appearing to try to draw contact. Unfortunately, no foul was called and the shot missed badly, as Indiana went on to cut the series deficit to 2-1.
"Not really," Brunson responded when asked after the game if he liked the shot. "It's just a terrible decision and something I need to learn from."
The Knicks had 16.4 seconds to work with coming out of their timeout, but Brunson threw up the shot just a few seconds after catching the in-bounds pass. He admitted that he should have taken his time in that instance.
"I knew the time, I knew everything that was going on. I just made a terrible decision," he said.
Brunson finished with 26 points on 10-of-26 shooting. It was his first time shooting under 45 percent in the playoffs since Game 2 of the first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Brunson will try to be better with his decision-making when the Knicks return to action against the Pacers in Game 4 on Sunday.
