Fantasy Alert: Commanders Strategy for Christian McCaffrey's Bro Luke Reportedly Set
The Washington Commanders have a plan for third-round pick Luke McCaffrey.
According to ESPN's John Keim, the Commanders "consider McCaffrey a slot receiver."
Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson will be the top two options in the passing game for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, while Dyami Brown, Olamide Zaccheaus and Jamison Crowder will all be fighting for a role down the depth chart.

Coach Questions Beck's Personality 🤔
Of that bunch, however, McCaffrey may have the upper hand. Brown has only registered 29 catches for 476 yards and three touchdowns in three NFL seasons. Zaccheaus only managed 10 catches for 176 yards and two scores in Philadelphia last season, his worst output since his 2019 rookie season. Crowder was a virtual non-factor for Buffalo in 2022 and Washington last season.
McCaffrey—who is famously the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers' superstar running back Christian McCaffrey, and made the transition from quarterback to wideout in college—probably has the most upside of the bunch.
General manager Adam Peters told Keim that the rookie wideout was skilled at "being able to get open and if he wasn't open, he was making contested catches. He moves so well. He moves like a guy who's maybe 5'10" in terms of his quickness. ... Seeing him get better and better throughout the process tells us that he's only going to get better."
So if you are scavenging the bargain bin in the later rounds of your fantasy draft and aren't afraid to go with the third or fourth option in Washington's passing game—a team with a rookie quarterback, it should be repeated—McCaffrey might have some play as a WR5 or WR6. But likely only in very, very deep leagues.
