NBA Rumors: Mavs' Luka Dončić Got Injection for Chest Injury Before Game 2 of Finals
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Dončić received a pain-killing injection before Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics to numb the area of his thoracic contusion and is expected to receive another shot before Wednesday's Game 3, per ESPN's Malika Andrews and Tim MacMahon.
"I feel good. I don't want to give any more details, but I feel good," Dončić, who has been banged up throughout the postseason, said Tuesday.
Dončić suffered a right knee sprain in the first quarter of the Mavs' 101-90 win over the Clippers in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series. He's also been dealing with left ankle soreness throughout the postseason. He was diagnosed with a thoracic contusion on Sunday.

Dončić, an MVP finalist, leads the Mavs in the postseason with averages of 29.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Dallas has gone just 31-44 without him since he entered the NBA in 2018, including a 4-8 mark this season, according to StatMuse.
The Mavs are hoping that the treatment will help Dončić be at his best in Game 3 as they try to climb out of a 2-0 series hole against the Celtics.
