NFL Draft 2025: Top Prospects and 1st-Round Mock Predictions
We're only a little more than 24 hours removed from the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. But why not start looking ahead to 2025?
Sure, a lot is going to change between now and April 24, 2025, when the first round of next year's NFL draft is scheduled to be held in Green Bay, Wisc. College players will move up and down the rankings, as analysts continually update their mocks and projections.
It's hard to even predict the selection order for the 2025 NFL draft. There are sure to be some teams that overperform and others that fail to live up to expectations.
A way-too-early 2025 first-round mock is still a fun exercise, though. So here's a mock for next year, with the selection order based on the inverse of DraftKings Sportsbook's odds for each team to win the Super Bowl in the 2024 season.

Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado

Hunter is so talented that he could be the first player selected in the 2025 draft. Not only that, but he could get drafted as either a wide receiver or a cornerback, both positions he has played for Colorado and could thrive at in the NFL.
Last year, Hunter had 57 catches for 721 yards and five touchdowns for the Buffaloes' offense. But he may be an even better defensive player, as he showed by recording 30 tackles and three interceptions while providing shutdown coverage in the 2023 season.
In 2024, Hunter will have another opportunity to showcase his skills on both sides of the ball. It's unlikely he'd play both positions at the next level, but nothing can be ruled out for him.
Whichever NFL team lands Hunter in next year's draft will be getting an incredible player, and they'll need to decide where he best fits.
Mykel Williams, DL, Georgia
3 of 4
Georgia's defense has been churning out NFL-caliber players in recent years, and more are on the way. That includes Williams, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound defensive lineman who has been a solid contributor for the Bulldogs the past two seasons.
Williams recorded 4.5 sacks in both the 2022 and 2023 campaigns. But he also had a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two passes defended last year as he continued to get better while gaining college experience.
It wouldn't be surprising to see Williams take another big step forward in 2024. If he does, then he should move up to near the top of the draft rankings.
NFL teams needing to bolster their D-line should target Williams next year, although they'll likely need an early pick in order to land him.
Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
4 of 4
Sanders could be the first player taken in the 2025 NFL draft. But that depends on if a quarterback-needy team ends up with the top selection, or if one trades up to the top of the board in order to nab a QB.
The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and current Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, the younger Sanders impressed upon following his dad from Jackson State last year. In his first season with the Buffaloes, Sanders passed for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and only three interceptions in 11 games.
Teams like the Titans, Giants, Raiders and others could be in the market for a QB next year, depending on how the 2024 season unfolds. Any of them could be eyeing Sanders, who will likely be the top quarterback prospect in the class.
Sanders has a bright future ahead of him and could follow in his dad's footsteps to become a successful NFL player.
