NFL Draft 2024 Rumors: Xavier Worthy 'Could Go Higher Than People Expect' in Round 1
Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy could "go higher than people than expect" when the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft begins April 25, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said Saturday on SportsCenter.
"The fastest player in the draft, blew out the combine; blazing speed," Fowler said. "When I ask teams who they think will be the fourth receiver taken after [Rome Odunze, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers], he's the name that comes up most often.
"And there are others, like LSU's Brian Thomas Jr. who will be in the mix there in the first round, but this is a player who could go higher than people expect."

Worthy completed the fastest 40-yard dash in NFL combine history with a 4.22-second run in March.
He recorded 75 catches for 1,1014 yards and five touchdowns, while adding another score on a punt return, during his senior season at Texas.
Worthy is ranked as the No. 50 overall prospect, and No. 9 wide receiver, in the latest B/R 2024 NFL Draft Big Board. B/R NFL Scout Derrick Klassen describes him as a player whose speed and route-running tools should make him "the primary deep threat in any offense."
The receiver has previously been connected with the Kansas City Chiefs, whom Worthy has indicated he wants to play for. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. said in March that the Chiefs could consider trading up to select the speedy wide receiver.
