Masters 2024 Tee Times: Pairings and Predictions for Saturday
Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau and Max Homa enter the third round of the Masters in a three-way tie for the lead.
All three of the leaders used strong opening rounds to top the leaderboard and then they maintained their positions amidst difficult conditions on Friday.
Scheffler came into Augusta National Golf Club as the clear favorite to win his second green jacket in three years.
The top men's golfer in the world could produce a third-round score that few players in the field can replicate.
After all, Scheffler has barely been over 70 in most of his rounds on the PGA Tour this season.
DeChambeau and Homa will be the two golfers in Saturday's final group, though, as Scheffler will play with Nicolai Hojgaard in the second-to-last group.

Scottie Scheffler Attempts to Break Away from Field
1 of 3
Scheffler has not played consecutive bad rounds of golf all season.
The top-ranked men's golfer turned his worst single-round score of 2024 on Friday. The 72 he carded was one of the best numbers produced in the blustery conditions.
The expectation is for Scheffler to attempt to pull away from the field with one of the lowest rounds on the course.
Scheffler displayed breakaway speed once before at the Masters. He gained separation in the second round when he won the green jacket in 2022.
He could not turn in that type of performance on Friday due to the limitations caused by the conditions.
A calmer Augusta should produced a handful of low scores on Saturday, and it's hard to believe Scheffler will not be one of the players on the move over the next 18 holes.
Nicolai Hojgaard Sticks Around in Quest for First Major
2 of 3
Nicolai Hojgaard could be the player who sticks around that no one expected to be near the top of the leaderboard at the start of the tournament.
The 23-year-old Dane resides two shots back of the leading trio after a solid 67-73 start.
Hojgaard leads the field in strokes gained around the green and is fourth in strokes gained approach, per Data Golf.
The fourth-placed golfer is also second to Scheffler in strokes gained tee to green.
All of the numbers suggest Hojgaard will not fade away over the weekend in the quest for his first major title.
A majority of the players around him on the Masters leaderboard have either won majors, or contended before, so beating them will not be easy, but at least his game is in a great spot.
At Least 25 Golfers Finish Under Par at End of Third Round
3 of 3
Saturday should be the day players look to move up the leaderboard to be close to first place going into Sunday.
The calmer conditions should allow the golfers at even-par, or one-to-two-over to surge into red numbers.
Former major champions Patrick Reed, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Brooks Koepka, as well as Xander Schauffele, Tyrrell Hatton and Patrick Cantlay are names to watch in the potential rush up the leaderboard.
Reed ranks seventh in the field in strokes gained putting, and as past winner at Augusta, he could rely on his experience to make one of the biggest jumps of the day.
He is one of 15 players at even, one-over, or two-over going into Saturday. A lot of those scores could be turned around quickly and we may even see the lowest round of the tournament. DeChambeau's first-round 65 is currently the best score of the event.
