Masters 2024: 3 Instant Reactions to Friday Leaderboard Scores
The wind wreaked havoc on the Masters field at Augusta National Golf Club on Friday.
Eight players finished with an under-par score and only Ludvig Aberg carded a score in the 60s.
The par and bogey golf played by most of the Masters participants meant there was no separation gained on the leaderboard.
Bryson DeChambeau, Max Homa and Scottie Scheffler head into Saturday tied at six-under. Only 14 players enter the weekend under par and just three players are within three shots of the leaders.
There was also a close focus on the cut line throughout Friday's second round. A handful of previous major champions failed to advance to the weekend.
Tiger Woods survived the cut by a few strokes to play in his 24th consecutive weekend in a Masters appearance.
Conditions Stopped Low Scoring Round

The wind progressively got worse at Augusta throughout Friday's round.
Aberg's three-under 69 felt like a miracle of an accomplishment because of how torturous the conditions were.
Collin Morikawa and Patrick Reed each carded two-under 70s, while five other players, including Homa, produced a one-under 71.
Seven players shot an 80 or worse, including former Masters champions Bubba Watson and Charl Schwartzel.
Even Scheffler, who looked unstoppable for most of the PGA Tour season, was slowed down by the windy conditions as he wrapped up on Friday afternoon.
Scheffler only made three birdies and all of those shots were given back to the course on bogeys.
The weather is not supposed to be as bad on Saturday, where Moving Day could live up to its name.
Late Mistakes Could Hurt Bryson DeChambeau
2 of 3
DeChambeau carded bogeys on the 14th and 18th holes.
The dropped shots occurred right after the first-round leader rolled in birdies on the 12th and 13th holes.
DeChambeau appeared to be in a terrific position to hold the solo lead for the second straight day, but the late errors dropped him into a three-way tie.
Prior to the 14th hole, DeChambeau recorded just two bogeys in 31 holes.
The slide back down to six-under did not cost DeChambeau the tournament on Friday, but it could have an affect on how he starts on Saturday.
The last thing he needed was any damage to his confidence at a place where he has not played well on the weekend.
DeChambeau has a single round in the 60s in three weekend appearances at Augusta. He likely needs two scores in the 60s to have a chance to take down Scheffler.
Tiger Woods Makes 24th Straight Masters Cut
3 of 3
Woods made Masters history by making his 24th consecutive cut on Friday.
The 15-time major champion battled on the back nine to avoid a freefall down the leaderboard that so many players experienced throughout the second round.
Woods rolled in eight pars, one birdie and one bogey in his final 10 holes to recover from an up-and-down first eight holes in which he had three birdies and a trio of bogeys.
Friday's accomplishment was even more impressive when you consider the physical toll the course took on Woods' body.
Woods played a few holes in the morning to complete his first round and then turned right around to play 18 more holes.
"I'm tired," Woods said, per ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach. "I've been out for a while, competing, grinding. It's been a long 23 holes, a long day. But [caddie Lance Bennett] and I really did some good fighting today, and we've got a chance."
Woods likely will not be in contention over the weekend, but he still has a chance to finish high on the leaderboard if he plays like he did on Friday's last 10 holes.
