NFL Exec Shades Cowboys: 'I Don't Really Understand the Plan' in 2024 Free Agency
The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the least active teams in free agency this offseason, and many around the league are scratching their heads.
"I don't really understand the plan there so far this offseason, but there's a lot weighing on this draft, and they seem to be confident about finding a bunch of starters," an NFC scouting director told ESPN's Jordan Reid.
So far this offseason, the Cowboys have made more headlines for the players they've lost in free agency rather than the ones they've acquired. Starting running back Tony Pollard signed with the Tennesse Titans and longtime left tackle Tyron Smith joined the New York Jets.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The Cowboys' inactivity has been especially surprising since team owner Jerry Jones declared before the offseason that he planned to be "all-in" in free agency in hopes of improving Dallas' roster for the 2024 campaign.
The Cowboys own the No. 24 pick in this month's NFL draft, so they will need to ensure they fill the biggest hole on their roster.
Reid noted that interior offensive linemen Graham Barton of Duke and Jackson Powers-Johnson of Oregon would be "plug-and-play options" immediately for Dallas.
He added that it wouldn't be a surprise if the team used a Day 2 pick on the offensive line as well, with Cooper Beebe (Kansas State) and Dominick Puni (Kansas) believed to "have the potential to be early starters."
