NFL Insider: Raiders 'Would Like to Trade Up' amid Aidan O'Connell, QB Draft Rumors
Aidan O'Connell had a solid finish to his rookie season after Antonio Pierce took over as interim head coach, but that doesn't mean the Las Vegas Raiders won't try to add a potential starting quarterback in the 2024 NFL draft.
Per The Athletic's Vic Tafur, the Raiders "would like to trade up" from their current spot in the first round at No. 13 overall.
Tafur didn't specifically say they want to move up for a quarterback, but they're positioned right now at the back of a trio of teams likely to be interested in a signal-caller. The Minnesota Vikings (No. 11 and 23) and Denver Broncos (No. 12) also seem poised to make a move up.

Pierce, who was hired as the full-time head coach on Jan. 19, has made no secret of his desire for new general manager Tom Telesco to be aggressive when it comes to finding a long-term quarterback.
If the Raiders want to take a big swing to trade up in the draft, it could be in an attempt to get Jayden Daniels. He played for Arizona State from 2019 to '21 when Pierce was on the coaching staff.
They spoke very highly of each other after meeting at the NFL scouting combine. It would take a significant offer for the Raiders to move up as high as they would likely have to go for a shot at selecting the reigning Heisman winner.
B/R's NFL scouting department has Daniels projected to go No. 3 overall to the New England Patriots. He's been frequently connected to the Washington Commanders with the second pick throughout the pre-draft process.
Of course, Pierce has also given a full-throated endorsement of Michigan's J.J. McCarthy. He's at least making sure to give Telesco options to choose from if the Raiders want to make a trade.
O'Connell was a fourth-round pick by the Raiders in 2023. He started 10 games as a rookie and finished the year showing some promise with 853 passing yards, eight touchdowns and no interceptions over his final four games.
