Dan Hurley Responds to Possible 'Brinks Truck' Contract Offer amid Kentucky Rumors
Dan Hurley is sitting atop the sport of men's college basketball as a back-to-back national champion, and he doesn't sound like someone who is in a rush to leave UConn.
The Huskies head coach joined Colin Cowherd on FS1 on Wednesday and said "it's flattering" to be connected to jobs such as Kentucky that could back up a "Brinks truck" with a significant offer (h/t Adam Luckett of Kentucky Sports Radio).
"I've come a long way since being a high school coach 15 years ago," he said. "I've got a long career of turning down jobs or more money to stay in places where I was happy or fit me."

Luka Unlikely to Start Series
UConn surely seems to fit him.
He took the job ahead of the 2018-19 campaign and has built the Huskies into an absolute juggernaut by the end of his sixth season. They won the national championship during the 2022-23 campaign but were even more dominant this season as the Big East regular-season champions, Big East tournament champions and national champions.
They became the first men's program since the Florida Gators of 2006 and 2007 to repeat as national champions.
It wasn't just that UConn cut down the nets that stood out. It was also completely dominant throughout the tournament with no challenger coming within 14 points.
Even when Purdue kept things close for much of Monday's title game, the Huskies pulled away for a commanding 75-60 victory.
It is only natural that Kentucky would look Hurley's way with a job opening. It is one of the most dominant programs in the history of the sport, and Hurley has proved he can win at the highest level.
It's also not every day a program like Kentucky is looking for a coach, but that is the case after John Calipari left for Arkansas.
Yet Hurley was also asked about the Wildcats vacancy after winning the title on Monday and was more focused on his own team, saying, "Now you're thinking in your brain, as I'm looking at the locker room, about the chance to do it three times, like a dynasty in modern times," per ESPN's Pete Thamel. "I mean, that's what I'm thinking about."
Kentucky will likely have to look elsewhere.
